The motorcycle has found a home in Ojai , California among the collection of the eminent Michael Taggart. His collection includes vintage race cars, Formula 1 cars and many, many Motorcycles. He considers this bike to be an “art piece”.

 

Specifications

Base Bike 1955 Velocette MS 500

Engine: Built to Venom specs with modern valves and seats. The Primary drive was upgraded to a toothed belt and a new clutch system using Kevlar friction material. The original material was CORK!  
Displacement OHV 500cc single  
Ignition Lucas competition magneto Lucas
Transmission:

Velo 4-speed

Intake Mikuni smoothbore, modified by Acme. Modified by ACME
Exhaust System Reverse cone megaphone System ACME
Electricals The charging system is fully upgraded to an AC generator at 12 volts and a NiCad battery pack. The wiring is fully fused and features a LED taillight within the Vincent housing.  

Bodywork

Bodywork was designed and built by Acme Rocket Bike, all hand-formed aluminum . The tail section and rear fender are a one piece fully integrated design.

Mooneyes “chopper oil tank” with custom mounts. This was a popular oil tank for the bike builders from the 1960’s.

Vincent Lightning unit with our own mounting system.
